Yerba Mate Oroye Suave (Tradicional) 500 g
Produced by the well-regarded Argentinian brand Tucangua; we had the chance to try it back in December 2023, it made a positive impression on us and we finally managed to bring it to Poland.
The pack features a toucan - how else, since it is one of the Tucangua brands. Inside you will find a beautiful-looking leaf: coarsely ground leaves with medium-sized stems and minimal dust.
The aroma of Oroye Suave (Tradicional) is strongly grainy-nutty, slightly woody and hay-like; it definitely belongs to the lighter and milder ones, without sharp or heavier nuances.
The taste of the infusion is an interesting combination of gentle bitterness and astringency with grainy, nutty, woody and hay-like notes and a light sweetness (creaminess).
Despite the word suave, it is not mild in terms of stimulation - quite the opposite, as it delivers a solid dose of energy. In this way it may resemble another Argentinian yerba known to many, Mate Rojo Suave. A light, mild flavour combined with a good energising effect is the recipe for many hours of mate drinking in the company of a tasty Argentinian yerba, which Oroye Suave undoubtedly is.
