Yerba mate La Dicha Tradicional 500 g
A traditional Argentine offering from the niche brand La Dicha (Spanish for joy), available in Poland for the first time. It comes in several interesting variants; this is the traditional version.
The simple paper packaging with its rough texture tempts you to open it quickly and give it a try. It is aged for 24 months, during which it gains character and its flavour matures.
It has a nice cut: fairly large leaves with an admixture of medium-sized stems and a moderate amount of dust. It draws you in with its looks alone, not to mention its other qualities.
When you open the pack, your nose should pick up woody, hay-like and nutty aromas and a gentle smokiness. The aroma seems fairly light and not very intense, but I promise the flavour of the infusion will be much more intense, practically from the first sip.
La Dicha Tradicional is astringent and bitter almost immediately, slightly smoky, with grainy-nutty notes, a light sweetness and a hint of roasted sunflower seeds coming through in the background. The intensity of the infusion builds, especially the astringency and bitterness. The rich bouquet of flavours spreads pleasantly across the palate, and the astringency and bitterness leave a distinctive aftertaste for a long time.
You can see and taste that this is an extraordinary yerba that delivers an above-average energy boost while delighting you with its flavour for many hours. It is intended for lovers of niche Argentine yerbas who appreciate unique products like this, made with passion and love.
