Yerba mate La Dicha Barbacua 500 g
A traditional Argentine offering from the niche brand La Dicha (Spanish for joy), available in Poland for the first time. It comes in several interesting variants, and this one is produced (dried) using the traditional Barbacua method, which gives it its distinctive aroma and flavour.
It comes in the paper packaging we like best, which is also tightly sealed so it does not lose its fantastic aroma. It is aged for 24 months, during which it gains character and its flavour matures.
It has a nice cut: fairly large leaves with an admixture of medium-sized stems and a moderate amount of dust. It draws you in with its looks alone, not to mention its other qualities.
The aroma of la Dicha Barbacua is strongly woody, intense, slightly smoky and nutty. It is undoubtedly bold and makes you want to fill your gourd right away.
From the first sip the infusion delivers bold flavour sensations, and over time it even gains strength. Woody, grainy and nutty notes come through strongly. A light but not excessive smokiness, combined with considerable astringency and bitterness, makes for an exceptionally tasty combination. After a while a note reminiscent of roasted sunflower seeds or walnuts grows in the background.
It easily withstands repeated pours and delivers a solid energising effect - I think it will be one of the best yerbas from the Argentine delivery. You can comfortably pour a litre of water through a standard serving (approx. 50 g) and still enjoy an intense infusion.
Intended for lovers of niche Argentine yerbas with bold flavours and an above-average energy boost lasting many hours. Be sure to try it!
