Yerba Mate Fronteras con manzanilla y naranja (with chamomile and orange) 500 g
An aromatic Argentinian yerba from a niche plantation, by a brand new to our range called Fronteras. It should not be confused with the Sin Fronteras brand, which was once available in our shop in its distinctive black packaging. Fronteras began its yerba adventure in 2018. Cultivation is completely natural and traditional, and the leaf is aged for at least 12 and up to 24 months.
Fronteras con manzanilla y naranja has a base of coarsely cut leaves with equally coarsely cut stems and a moderate amount of dust. It also contains chamomile and orange peel, of which the chamomile is by far the most noticeable.
The pack features a beautiful drawing of an alpaca, charming in its simplicity, and the texture of the packaging also nicely stirs the imagination and our expectations of the leaf's taste and aroma.
When you open the pack, you are greeted by an intense chamomile (sweetish) aroma along with citrus, grainy, tea-like, hay-like and woody accents.
The infusion gains intensity with each refill; the chamomile makes itself strongly felt, and over time a pleasant bitterness and moderate astringency become more noticeable. You will also find gentle citrus, grainy, hay-like, tea-like and woody accents. The chamomile is undoubtedly much more noticeable in the infusion than the orange notes, which serve rather as a background or a delicate accent for the other flavours.
This is certainly a very interesting blend that surprised us very positively and won us over with its complex flavour and the yield of the leaf. It guarantees many hours of high-level mate drinking, both in terms of flavour intensity and the effect of the infusion.
The paper packaging is fully biodegradable about 180 days after it is thrown away, which makes it safe for the environment and eco-friendly. It is worth appreciating this attitude among producers. For Fronteras, besides the environment, the people who make up the brand are just as important - from all its employees to the plantations that work with Fronteras.
Their goal is to offer a tasty yerba, rich not only in flavour but also in nutritional value and with a good energising effect. They focus on a high-quality production process, resulting in a very good quality yerba aimed at conscious consumers.
