Opis produktu
Yerba Mate Don Basilio Seleccion Especial 500 g
One of the younger brands available on the Polish yerba mate market, it joined our range at the beginning of July 2024. Until now it was available in two variants: traditional (Tradicional) and mild (suave). Now it is time for another one: Seleccion Especial.
Don Basilio Seleccion Especial contains more coarsely cut, selected leaves with some stems and a moderate amount of dust. It has a good energising effect.
When you open the pack, you see a nicely cut leaf dominated by coarsely cut leaves, with medium-sized stems and a relatively small amount of dust. The cut is undoubtedly very photogenic, and the leaf itself has a moderately intense aroma with noticeable hay-like, woody and nutty accents.
After the first pours the infusion is pleasantly bitter and astringent, with plenty of grainy-nutty notes, a light hay-like quality and creaminess. Over time the infusion gains intensity and strength; the woody and grainy-nutty notes become more pronounced and blend well with the other accents. In the background you will also find tea-like, slightly nettle-like or grassy notes, which are quite characteristic of Don Basilio yerbas and make it clearly stand out from other Argentinian brands. Heavier or smoky accents are practically absent.
Don Basilio in the Seleccion Especial version is a complex, full-bodied yerba that provides a solid dose of energy for many hours of mate drinking. It should certainly appeal to every fan of classic Argentinian yerbas without additives.
