A large-capacity vessel made of Palo Santo wood with a rim from the well-known Paraguayan brand Selecta. It should satisfy even the most demanding customers looking for aromatic wooden vessels rich in resin, which gives off a unique, slightly citrusy taste and aroma that passes into the infusion. Among the indigenous peoples this tree is considered sacred, hence the name Palo Santo, meaning "holy wood".
If you choose a Palo Santo matero (mate gourd), i.e. a vessel made of this wood, you get a durable, solid product that can serve you for years to come. Thanks to its properties, it makes every mate session more enjoyable, adding something extra thanks to the resin mentioned above.
Matero Palo Santo "Paraguay" is without doubt one of the best possible purchases for a fan of the Paraguayan style of yerba mate. It is relatively easy to use every day, but more on that briefly below.
Its care and preparation are extremely important to keep it in good condition, i.e. to avoid possible cracks. Mate. It is also worth paying attention to vessels with a metal rim - they are the most functional, durable and robust. Compared to a matero without a rim, they last longer and are more resistant to damage.
A fairly large vessel with a capacity of 190 to 200 ml (when filled "to the brim" without mate), which lets you enjoy the unique taste of mate at any time of day. Ideal for preparing one serving of infusion and savouring its extraordinary aroma.
As for using the vessel, a good practice is to empty the remaining mate on the same day you use it. After emptying, simply rinse the inside gently, wipe it thoroughly with a paper towel and leave it to dry upright in a well-ventilated place for at least 3-4 hours or until the next use the following day.
