So what is the secret of Palo Santo wood gourds? The scent - or, more precisely, the aromatic resin, which releases a unique, slightly citrusy flavour and aroma that passes into the infusion. Many people start with glass or ceramics and end up reaching for Palo Santo.. ;)
Palo Santo Guampa is a medium-sized wooden matero (mate gourd) in a metal casing, with a capacity of 145-165 ml (filled to the brim without mate), which lets you enjoy the exceptional taste of freshly prepared mate at any time of day. It will easily last for a good few hours of sipping throughout the day.
In this case its shape resembles a guampa, a vessel made from cattle horn. It has characteristic ridges, which also make it easier to hold. It has a wide opening and is stable, aromatic and well made.

As for everyday use, a good practice is to empty the gourd of mate leftovers on the same day you use it. After emptying, simply rinse the inside gently, wipe it thoroughly with a paper towel and leave it to dry in an upright position in an airy place for at least 3-4 hours or until the next use the following day.
