Matero Palo Santo Chalice with "El Sol" engraving 140-160 ml
Among the many different options, palo santo will surely satisfy even the most demanding customers. So what makes it so special? The scent! Gourds made of palo santo wood have a distinctive, very pleasant citrus scent that fills the whole vessel, i.e. the matero (mate gourd). This is all thanks to the aromatic resin that the wood releases with each refill, which passes into the infusion and enriches its flavour.
The gourd available here can be considered unique thanks to its beautiful engraving. In the middle it features a hand-made decoration with a sun motif, "el Sol" in Spanish. It is surrounded by ornaments that give the gourd character. The gourd is relatively small (approx. 140-160 ml), which is an advantage: it is small and handy, doesn't take up much space and lets you make full, efficient use of the yerba you put in.

Proper care and preparation are essential to keep it in good condition, i.e. to avoid possible cracks. Mate. It is also worth considering gourds with a metal rim - they are the most functional, durable and sturdy. Compared to a matero without a rim, they last longer and are more resistant to damage.
As for everyday use, a good habit is to empty the gourd of mate leftovers on the same day you use it. After emptying it, just rinse the inside gently, wipe it thoroughly with a paper towel and leave it to dry upright in a well-ventilated place for at least 3-4 hours or until the next use the following day.
The rim may have slight dents and scratches. Cracks that appear during use are not covered by a complaint.
