Chimarrao mat Bortonaggio "Mapa do RS" Verde 16 cm
A special mat which, thanks to its large diameter, is ideal for chimarrao and gourds with a wide opening, such as cuias or others of a similar shape. It will help you form the mound the gaucho way, and it can also serve as a coaster for the gourd itself, protecting your furniture or tablecloths from dirt and stubborn stains.
Above all, however, the Bortonaggio mat is meant for preparing the so-called mound. Simply cover the opening of the gourd with the mat, turn it upside down and shake it vigorously a few times. Then tilt the gourd to 45 degrees and shake it a few more times, so that the mound of yerba can settle properly on one side of the gourd. All that is left is to pour in the water, insert the bombilla while covering the mouthpiece, and enjoy your favourite mate.
In this colour version, besides the producer's name (Bortonaggio), you can see the outline of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul in green on a black background. Inside the state's borders there are numerous phrases in white and black related to chimarrao and the state itself, which is famous for growing and producing Brazil's green gold - chimarrao.
