A real treat for fans looking for unique accessories from South America. Here we have a high-quality Argentinian alpaca silver bombilla made by the craftsman Diego Perello, available in a limited edition. It is carefully made, with attention to detail, joints and decoration.
A beautiful, slightly curved bombilla - or rather a bombillon - with a filter shaped like a thickened spoon. The ART 11 version has lovely fluting along almost the entire tube, while the ART 10 version features interesting decorations. What catches the eye is the decorated, thickened mouthpiece with notches, the so-called Pico del Loro (Spanish for parrot's beak). It is also worth mentioning the wide mouthpiece, which makes it easy to clean the inside of the tube with a brush and allows a better flow of the infusion. Every element is meticulously crafted, and the bombilla looks even better in real life than in the photos ;)
The tube is made of alpaca (also known as nickel silver or German silver), an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel. Unlike some similar products, it is not merely plated with alpaca but made entirely of it, which guarantees quality and durability.
The Pico del Loro "Oro" bombilla is approximately 17.5 or 18 cm long depending on the variant, extremely durable and sturdy, and filters practically any yerba mate well except Brazilian chimarrao. It also makes it easy to remove the leftover leaves from your gourd after a full day of mate drinking.
The Alpaca Cuchara Cincelado bombilla, like other silver products, may darken or discolour over time, which is a natural process, but there is a simple solution. Just clean the bombilla with a cloth and a small amount of toothpaste, and the discolouration or dark tarnish will disappear. You can also use food-safe silver cleaners or special polishing cloths.
Due to its length, it is intended for gourds with a capacity of up to 200 ml and/or a height of up to 11-13 cm.
Before first use, we recommend pouring boiling water thoroughly over the bombilla and washing it with detergent.
