Paraguayan mate with chia seeds and herbs
A newcomer to the Polish yerba mate market, available since July 2019. It is produced by the Paraguayan company Unimate. This strongly herbal variety is grown in the Atlantic forests of the Alto Paraná department (Upper Paraná). The blend contains chia seeds (Salvia hispanica L.) and herbs: mint (Mentha) and boldo (Peumus boldus). The result is a rather distinctive combination with a bold, classic taste and a strongly noticeable but not dominant herbal note. The bitterness is moderate, with smoky and woody notes and the classic smokiness of Paraguayan mates. The herbs make the bitterness milder than in this brand's classic varieties, so it can also be recommended to people who are just starting their adventure with yerba mate.
Good for cold preparation (terere)
An infusion made from a standard portion of dried leaves (50 g) with 500 ml of water at 70 degrees Celsius is not just a decent dose of stimulation. Like other Ruvicha mates, it provides a good dose of magnesium, iron and vitamin B6. Ruvicha Chia is a blend with a pleasant taste, good for preparing both hot and cold with ice cubes. It is an interesting choice for people looking for interesting yerba mate varieties who want to try something new in their yerba menu.
The cardboard package has an interesting, modern design featuring an indigenous man, probably from the Guarani people. The dried leaves themselves are in a foil bag, so they keep their valuable taste and aroma for longer. Ruvicha mate is a new product that should be on the radar of every yerba mate lover.
