Yerba Mate Matesur Tradicional 500 g
A new arrival that we tested in November 2024; it passed our tests, so we decided to add it to our range.
Matesur Tradicional is a classic yerba without additives, with a nicely cut leaf: coarsely cut leaves with medium-sized stems and a moderate amount of dust. When you open the pack, you are greeted by an intense aroma with strongly woody and grainy-nutty accents. The aroma is fairly bold and typical of yerbas from the province of Misiones.
The intense aroma is reflected in the taste of the infusion, which is distinct and bold from the start. The infusion has a pleasant bitterness and astringency, strong grainy and woody accents, a gentle smoky flavour and a light sweetness (creaminess). Despite the distinct start, the infusion does not lose strength after the first pours - on the contrary, it gains strength. The taste is extremely full-bodied and rich in interesting accompanying flavours that may bring to mind bread crust, roasted sunflower seeds or almonds.
Matesur Tradicional offers a very good yield and a good energising effect for many hours. Fans of the Argentinian style will be delighted.
It is also available in an Uruguayan-style version called Despalada.
