Opis produktu
Yerba mate Mateando Tradicional (CBSe) 500 g
CBSe hardly needs an introduction - for many years it has been one of the well-known and popular brands among Paraguayan holly lovers in Poland. This time we have something new for you: a traditional yerba produced by CBSe under the Mateando brand.
This new CBSe yerba without additives is an exception, as all their other blends are herbal and/or flavoured. We first had the chance to test it at the end of November 2024. It is undoubtedly a choice for those looking for light and mild flavours, an ideal first yerba, especially for people who are wary of bitterness and astringency.
Inside the Mateando Tradicional pack you will find fairly coarsely cut leaves with some medium-sized stems and a minimal amount of dust. On opening the pack you can smell hay-like, slightly grassy, nettle-like and woody notes. A rather unusual combination for a classic Argentinian yerba.
The aroma is one thing, but how does it taste?
At first the infusion is fairly light and mild, dominated by grassy and hay-like flavours. Over time the bitterness becomes more noticeable and the astringency increases. The infusion has grassy, nettle-like, grainy and seaweed-like notes, delicate woody accents and a light sweetness.
The yield of this yerba can be described as good, and its energising effect is moderate. What sets it apart are its unusual herbaceous notes, which personally remind me of Barao's Padrao Argentina.
If you are looking for a classic Argentinian yerba with an interesting twist and without heavy or smoky notes, this is the one for you - we recommend giving it a try!
