Yerba mate la Cumbrecita con Menta (with mint) 500 g
Another option from la Cumbrecita, this time in a strongly minty and refreshing version.
There is no doubt that this is a blend for fans of herbal or mintier blends from Argentina. The brand name, i.e. la Cumbrecita (Spanish for summit or small peak) comes from the province of Córdoba. Until now, four herbal or herbal-fruit versions were available, but the new version has 3 ingredients: Paraguayan holly, mint and poleo.
The blend contains medium-sized leaves with some stems and a moderate amount of dust. La Cumbrecita con Menta is a yerba that is also suitable for cold preparation as refreshing terere, recommended especially on hot summer days. Nothing stops you from drinking it the classic way, hot, as well.
The aroma after opening the pack is fairly light, with a strong mint-and-tea accent. The infusion is gently stimulating, and in terms of flavour the refreshing menthol competes for dominance with the yerba bitterness and astringency. You will find plenty of mint and freshness, as well as nettle and tea notes, while the bitterness and astringency are low in intensity. Nevertheless, the infusion charms with its lightness, so you can enjoy a tasty, herbal flavour for several good hours, recommended especially on warmer days.
If you like new yerbas or strongly herbal blends from Argentina, this is definitely the yerba for you.
