Yerba Mate Don Bosco Elaborada con palo 1000 g
Another Argentine classic from the province of Misiones, produced artisanally using traditional methods, without mechanising the cultivation process and in line with high standards. It could be called an organic mate without a certificate, which is a fairly common practice. Companies prefer to spend the relatively high costs of certification on other needs, e.g. improving facilities for their employees.
The brand is named after the priest San Juan Bosco, who devoted his life to young people, fighting poverty and helping those in need (the poor). So why this particular organisation and person?
Yerba Mate Don Bosco is produced by an organisation/institution founded by the Salesians in 1927. As you can see, they are still successfully producing it today, and doing it very well!
When you open the pack, you are greeted by the scent of meadow, wood and hay with a noticeable, slightly tobacco-like sharpness. Don Bosco Elaborada consists of medium and finely ground leaves of Paraguayan holly and a moderate amount of dust.
Once the leaves are in the matero (mate gourd) and the first water is poured, it's time to taste. From the first sip you get a pleasant bitterness, strongly woody with noticeable smoky notes, a hint of bread crust, astringency and a light sweetness. The flavour is rich and complex, and it lasts for a long time.
An interesting blend of flavours that beautifully combines Argentina and Paraguay in its character, taste and aroma. Those looking for new taste experiences will not be disappointed with Don Bosco.
