Another strongly herbal offering from the renowned Cachamate brand, in a new edition. Compared with the previous version, it contains only natural ingredients, with no added flavourings.
Apart from Paraguayan holly leaves and stems from Argentinian plantations, Cachamate Hierbas del Litoral also contains poleo, lemongrass, lemon verbena, sage and marcela herb. This combination enriches not only the flavour but also the aroma of the blend. Even though it contains no citrus fruit, many people will surely be able to detect a citrus note in the background.
The last-mentioned addition, marcela herb, is a relative of chamomile with antidepressant and relaxing effects that also strengthens the nervous system. Combined with Paraguayan holly and the other herbs, it creates a remarkable blend with a distinct herbal note and refreshing power.
When you open the pack, you are greeted by a light citrus aroma, somewhat like lemonade. There are also tea-like and minty notes; the aroma is not too sharp or heavy, but gentle and pleasant.
The infusion tastes strongly of citrus and tea, with a light sweetness and an unobtrusive astringency and bitterness spreading across the mouth, plus minty, floral and grassy notes.
Cachamate Hierbas del Litoral is also perfect for preparing cold (terere) on hot summer days. We recommend it to all lovers of herbal mate varieties and anyone looking for new taste experiences.
