Opis produktu
Yerba mate Barao Export Tipo Uruguay 500 g
A classic Uruguayan-style yerba containing finely cut leaves with a minimal addition of stems and a moderate amount of dust. It is produced by the well-known Brazilian brand Barao, which is better recognised for the highly regarded chimarrao in its range. Until now it was available only in an economical 1000 g pack; from now on it is also available in a smaller 500 g pack.
In this case, however, it does not have much in common with chimarrao. The dried leaves are a delicate green colour with shades of grey. Given how finely it is ground, we recommend drinking it using the so-called mound method. This lets you enjoy the full flavour and drink the infusion without the bombilla clogging.
The dry Barao Export smells rather delicate - you can pick up grassy and cereal notes, and the aroma is relatively mild and unobtrusive. The taste is fairly light and the infusion is not overly intense. As befits a Uruguayan cut, there is slight bitterness, moderate astringency, creaminess, cereal/nutty notes and a minimal saltiness. It is definitely one of the milder varieties of this type, which will surely appeal to those who are not necessarily looking for very intense flavours.
The yerba holds its flavour for a long time, is economical and provides a decent energy boost. An excellent option for everyday sipping at work or at home. A version with added herbs is also available in this style - be sure to try it.
