Yerba Mate Aromatica Tradicional 500 g
Another newcomer on the Polish market, taking us towards Paraguay. This time thanks to one of the most experienced companies - Aromatica, with over 50 years of experience in growing and producing yerba mate.
The brand's range includes not only classics but also herbal blends, but so far only two classic versions have reached us: the Tradicional described here and Oro Guarani.
When you open the pack, you can smell a slightly smoky aroma, gently sharp, mildly grassy and hay-like. The contents are a classic Paraguayan cut, i.e. fairly finely cut leaves mixed with coarsely cut stems and quite a solid portion of dust.
In the infusion you'll taste smokiness, an intense bitterness and an interesting smoked note with a hint of dried plum, which personally reminds me of the dried-fruit compote served on Christmas Eve. Add to that astringency and a slight saltiness. The result is a very interesting flavour combination that develops and intensifies with each refill. Astringency, bitterness and smokiness are definitely the most noticeable flavours.
Aromatica Tradicional has a high yield, so you can enjoy the classic Paraguayan taste for many hours. Along with these qualities comes a solid energy kick.
