Opis produktu
Yerba Mate Alhild Tradicional 500 g
We're heading to Obera, in the province of Misiones in Argentina. This time it's the Alhild brand. Where does the name come from? It's a company with Swedish roots in its history
The name Alhild is a kind of tribute to the producer's parents - Alhild Johannson and Don Gaspar Merelio Berg. Their daughter bore the now uncommon name Alhild. She was devoted to growing #yerbamate and other crops on the family farm, which still operates today
Production follows traditional methods; the mate is aged naturally for 12 months and this process is not accelerated in any way. We can safely say that it is an organic mate, but without certification, which happens quite often for a number of reasons.
After opening the Alhild Tradicional pack we notice a strongly woody scent, a bit like a meadow just after the rain. It invites you to pour the leaves into your matero (mate gourd) and give it a try. No point resisting too much!
In the pack itself you will find medium-cut leaves, large pieces of stems and a moderate amount of dust. We pour the leaves into the matero, form a mound, do the final pour and wait. What can we expect?
A pleasant, mild bitterness, noticeable herbaceous and woody notes and an acidity that becomes more pronounced at higher temperatures (above 65 degrees Celsius).
A classic that will appeal to fans of Argentine mate looking for new flavours and bored with the ones they have tried so far.
Since 2024 available in a new brown paper pack.
