Wooden matero Ranchero "Blanco" without metal rim Algarrobo 130 ml
A brand-new vessel in our range with a rather unusual shape and design, made of durable, hard-wearing Algarrobo wood. Meet the Mate Ranchero in brown and black - something for lovers of unconventional vessels.
The Ranchero Blanco matero (mate gourd) is a vessel made of Algarrobo wood with a small capacity (approx. 130 ml). It has an irregular shape that is hard to compare to any other type of vessel. This Algarrobo version is handy, has a fairly wide opening and sits well in the hand. The vessel features irregular decoration in the form of asymmetric white stripes. One of its walls is reinforced with 4 metal studs.
Algarrobo wood is durable and resistant, and in this respect it performs clearly better than Palo Santo. Compared with the aforementioned "holy wood", it is not resinous or as aromatic, but it is extremely practical and long-lasting, so with proper use it can serve you for years.
As for using the Algarrobo Ranchero vessel, we recommend emptying it of leaves on the same day, rinsing the inside under running water, wiping it with a paper towel and leaving it to dry in its normal upright position. Do not leave the vessel upside down, as this traps all the moisture inside, which in the long run may harm an Algarrobo vessel.
There is no point in coating the inside of the vessel with any oil, as this may have the opposite effect to the one intended. You can use cooking oils on the outside of the vessel if you want to add shine and enhance its colour, but this is not advisable on the inside.
Before first use, we recommend rinsing the inside of the vessel with warm water at least a few times.
