Mate Imperial Algarrobo Espejo 230 ml
A beautiful wooden cup with a large capacity (approx. 230 ml) made of Algarrobo wood, with a hand-decorated collar featuring the popular Espejo (mirror) motif and a flattened ferrule with a hand-decorated sun motif. It has a rounded shape and a wide opening, sits well in the hand and looks truly unusual. It is definitely a cup for fans of the Mate Imperial, in this case not made of gourd, but in a wooden version.
Algarrobo wood is durable and resistant, and in this respect it performs much better than palo santo. Compared to the aforementioned "holy wood", it is not resinous or as aromatic, but it is extremely practical and durable, so with proper use it can serve you for years.
As for using the cup, we recommend emptying it of yerba at the end of the day, rinsing the inside under running water, wiping it with a paper towel and leaving it to dry standing upright. Do not leave the cup upside down, as this traps all the moisture inside, which in the long run may harm an Algarrobo cup.
There is no point in oiling the inside of the cup, as this may have the opposite effect to the intended one. You can use edible oils on the outside of the cup if you want to give it shine and enhance its colour, but this is not advisable on the inside.
Before first use, we recommend rinsing the inside of the cup with warm water at least a few times.
