A delicacy Argentinians are almost crazy about! Made by the renowned company Havanna, which has been on the market since 1948, when it was founded in the Argentinian capital, Buenos Aires. One of the brand's factories is located in Europe, in Spain to be precise.
Dulce de leche is a remarkably intense treat, similar to the caramel spread known in Poland as kajmak. It is made from milk and sugar and contains no artificial colourings or preservatives. Its texture is smooth, slightly stretchy and thick, so the spread can easily be put on bread, crackers, cakes or whatever else comes to mind. What does it taste like?
The taste is very close to kajmak, but creamier and more vanilla-like thanks to the added flavouring. It also goes perfectly with yerba mate as a sweet treat on the side, though not necessarily added directly to the gourd :)
You can spread it on crackers, salted sticks, any kind of bread or another salty snack. Believe us, this combination is incredibly tasty! Try it yourself :)
