Bombilla Bortonaggio "Anel Quadrado" Spring 19 cm
An unusual tube from Brazil by Bortonaggio that catches the eye thanks to its massive decorative (cooling) ring covered with a special plastic.
The bombilla is made of high-grade INOX stainless steel with a spring-shaped filter and is produced in the country where chimarrao reigns supreme. It is suitable for medium and coarse cut yerba; we don't really recommend it for very finely ground varieties or chimarrao. For finely ground Brazilian chimarrao-type erva mate, we recommend bombillas with a flat round filter with many small holes (the so-called bomba).
Bombilla Bortonaggio "Anel Quadrado" Spring has a slightly bent and fairly wide mouthpiece; it is massive and heavy, and the spring-shaped filter itself can be unscrewed, which makes it easier to clean the inside of the tube. Once the spring is unscrewed, underneath you'll see a tube with four rows of 5 holes each, which ensures proper filtration and easy sipping of the infusion.
Everything comes packed in a white box with a window, and inside, besides the bombilla, you'll also find a brush for cleaning the inside of the tube.
Due to its length, it is intended for vessels 7-11 cm tall; if the vessel is taller, the ring will be partly hidden in the yerba.
Before first use, we recommend washing it thoroughly under running water with detergent and then pouring boiling water over it.
The bombilla should not be washed in a dishwasher. The vessel shown in the photo is not included in the set; it only serves as a stand for the bombilla :)
A version with a spoon-shaped filter is also available.
