Bombilla (Bombillon) Martin Fierro Pico Rey Cincelado 18 cm
A high-quality bombilla from Martin Fierro with rich decoration on the tube, straight from Argentina. It has a spoon-shaped filter and is made entirely of alpaca (so-called new silver or nickel silver), an alloy of copper, zinc and nickel. Unlike some similar products, it is not just plated with alpaca but made entirely of it, which guarantees quality and durability. It comes from a new brand in our offer that has a very wide range of premium products, including superb bombillones.
The Pico Rey Cincelado bombilla (bombillon) is 18 cm long, extremely durable and sturdy, and filters practically any yerba mate well except Brazilian chimarrao. The tube is slightly curved and has a stylish, thickened mouthpiece that partly blends into the tube. This shape is called "rey" because it resembles a royal crown. The mouthpiece is quite wide, so the inside can be easily cleaned with a brush. The bombilla is ergonomic and drinking through it is extremely easy. It also makes it easy to remove leftover yerba from the gourd after a full day of mate drinking.
The decorated ring in the lower part of the tube is also eye-catching. Another key element is the visible fluting between the ring and the mouthpiece, which gives the bombilla a unique character and draws all our attention to that part of the tube.
The filter itself is large (hence, among other things, the name bombillon) and spoon-shaped, with many small holes, which makes it extremely versatile and ideal for everyday use. This is an extremely carefully made bombilla whose price reflects its high quality.
Like other silver products, the Martin Fierro bombilla may darken or discolour over time, which is a natural process, but there is a simple solution. Just clean the bombilla with a cloth and a small amount of toothpaste, and the discolouration or dark tarnish will disappear.
Because of its length and fluting, it is intended for gourds with a capacity of no more than 250 ml and/or a height of no more than 10 cm. It will also work with gourds up to 12 cm tall, but then much of the fluting will not be visible.
Before first use, we recommend pouring boiling water over the bombilla and washing it thoroughly with detergent.
